It's My Philosophy
Until August of 2016, I was employed by The University of Akron as a Clinical Curriculum Specialist in their Center for Child Development. In addition to that role, I have a passion for working with families of children with disabilities. I recently completed graduate level coursework at Kent State University to earn an certificate in Early Intervention. It is my hope to put this knowledge to use at my current position and in the near future in a home-based program.
No matter where I provide services, it is my belief, like many, that children learn best through play. And because of this, the opportunities for play that are provided for children must have a solid foundation, based on theory, research, and evidence. When all of these pieces are present, development across all domains will take place inevitably, but never effortlessly. Engagement and learning are heightened through interactions with positive caregivers across all environments.
